About Us

Our Story

Little Cubs was founded by Karishma and Rohan Kittur in 2023. Our family relocated to Port Elgin — a place we lovingly call our ‘safe haven.’ Through our love for this community, Little Cubs materialized to bring high-quality childcare and a warm, inclusive space for families.

At Little Cubs Learning Centre, we are dedicated to nurturing the whole child through love, laughter, and learning. In partnership with families and the community, we provide a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment where every child feels valued, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential. Through play- based exploration, meaningful relationships, and high-quality care, we foster confident and compassionate individuals – one cub at a time!

Our Programs

Nurturing Every Stage

Toddler Program

1:5 Educator-to-child ratio
Maximum 15 children per room
Minimum 2 hours of outdoor play
1 RECE/DA and 2 ECAs in each toddler classroom
3 Nutritious meals served that are prepared on site
Junior & Senior toddler classroom

Preschool Program

1:8 Educator to Child ratio
Maximum 24 children in a classroom
2 RECE/DA and 1 ECA in each preschool classroom
Minimum 2 hours of outdoor play
3 Nutritious meals served that are prepared on site
Junior & Senior preschool classroom
School readiness preparation in our senior preschool

Before and After school program

1:15 Educator To child ratio
Maximum 28 Children In A Classroom
1 RECE/DA and 1 ECA in the BAS classroom
Morning & afternoon snack served that are prepared on site
Activities, homework help and lots of fun!

CENTRE MANAGEMENT

Karishma Kittur

Founder

I am a Registered Nurse by profession and most recently, worked with Grey Bruce Public Health. I loved working as a Public Health Nurse and serving the residents of Grey and Bruce County’s, but now I am ready to bring a new perspective as a RN to Little Cubs. As a nurse, I have worked with the pediatric population up to geriatrics and always found that I loved working with children the most. I am an advocate for things that I truly believe in and for topics close to my heart. I am passionate about travel – seeing new countries and learning their unique cultures. On my second mat leave, I started our travel blog – lifewith2cubs (the Cubs has been a part of our life since 2019!) and most recently, got certified as a travel agent in Feb 2023! I am excited to embark on this journey and bring all my past experiences and hobbies to make Little Cubs a unique, inclusive, and loving space for children and parents.
